Community Health Improvement Council for San Juan County

The Community Health Improvement Council (CHIC) serves San Juan County. CHIC is composed of individual citizens, groups, service providers, and other agencies committed to improving the overall health of San Juan County. The mission of CHIC is to promote the health and well-being of all people in San Juan County, and neighboring areas, through broad-based dialogue, partnership, advocacy and unified action.

CHIC works to address health issues through many avenues.  The CHIC Positive Wellness Campaign highlights good work being done in the community and shares that information through local media outlets.  To see the current and past Positive Wellness Campaign features visit http://www.sjsci.org/chic

CHIC chooses focus areas around current health issues to work on throughout the year. The current priority area for this year is equitable food access for all San Juan County residents. Surveys were conducted in previous years showing pricing for various grocery stores and CHIC is working on a plan to address how to educate people on finding ways to access healthy food options.

Meetings are open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend.  They are held the third Thursday of each month at 3 pm at San Juan County Partnership, 1515 E. 20th St., Ste B in Farmington, or via Zoom.

For more information, or to receive a Zoom link for meetings, contact Amanda Evans at 505-566-5867 or [email protected].
